Registration Once the application procedure has been successfully completed, students who have been offered a place at the institution will collect their letters of acceptance and bill from the Students Services Office. They will then collect their bank vouchers from the Accounts Department. All fees must be paid in full before registration can be completed. Fees can be paid at The National Commercial Bank, Christiana Branch or at any Branch of the National Commercial Bank, or at any other financial institution or agency as specified by the College. No fees will be collected at the Accounts Department. Students who do not live up to their financial obligations will be deregistered and barred from sitting examinations or attending classes. Refund of Fees
Students seeking refund of fees must submit the appropriate application in writing to the Student Services Office in the specified period. Registration Period Students are required to present their registration slip before attending any class. Registration normally takes place at the beginning of each semester: a) Semester 1 : September - before one is admitted to class. b) Semester 2 : January - before one is admitted to class. New, as well as returning students must be registered for both semesters on all four campuses. Registration Procedure Upon returning from the bank the following procedure must be adhered to: I. Ensure that the relevant sections of the bank voucher are returned to the Accounts Department, where the voucher will be stamped. II. Proceed to the Student Services Office and present your bank voucher. III. Students will then receive an admission slip, which must be taken to all classes. Penalties Penalties apply to students who fail to register within the registration period, a non - refundable fee is charged. I.D. Card Processing All students must ensure that photographs for identification card (I.D.) are taken on the days specified by administration. Failure to do this may result in Students being barred from accessing certain services ( eg. Library and sitting examinations). Registration is not complete until students are in possession of their I.D. cards. Orientation Orientation involves a wide variety of activities and experiences designed to assist new students to become familiar with the College environment. This exercise, which is usually conducted by the Student Council Executive, includes guided tours of the campus facilities, information on College services, academic and administrative matters. Class Attendance Students are expected to have at least an 80% average of attendance to all classes. Students who are unavoidably absent must present a valid Doctor's certificate or a letter of explanation from parents or guardians, which should be submitted to the Dean of Student Services. Withdrawal and Transfer from course Add / Drop Procedure If you wish to change your course, add or drop a course, you are required to do the following: 1. Download or collect and pay for add / drop form from the Students' Services Section. 2. Complete the form and return it to the office and make periodic checks with the Student Services Section to ensure that the adjustment has been made. Graduation Requirements The College has an annual graduation ceremony held between October and November. In order to graduate, students must fulfill the following criteria: 1) Have at least a 'C' average in all courses in the programme. 2) Have at least an 80% attendance record 3) Complete thirty (30) hours work-study 4) Clear all fees 5) Have no books outstanding for the Library. 6) Completed work exprience (for relevant programmes) |
